Not receiving verification codes on Dabble?

Troubleshooting steps for when verification codes are not being received, covering password resets, account creation, and when to contact support.

ℹ️ Dabble verification codes are sent from a number called 'TWVerify'. If you are unsure whether a code arrived, search your SMS inbox for TWVerify before working through the steps below.

If you are not receiving verification codes on Dabble (for password resets or account creation), the steps below can help you resolve the issue.

General troubleshooting steps

Start with these steps regardless of the situation:

  1. Check your account phone number - Verify that the phone number listed in your Dabble account is current and correct.

  2. Disable spam filters or apps that may block SMS - Ensure your phone is not in Battery Saver mode or using a VPN or mock location service. Enable Wi-Fi and location services if required.

  3. Check your SMS spam folder - Your verification code may have been filtered by your messaging app. See the Checking for spam messages section below for steps on iOS and Android.

  4. Restart or reinstall the Dabble app - Delete and reinstall the app, then retry the process. This can resolve issues caused by pending updates.

  5. Use the correct phone number - Make sure you are using the same number registered on your Dabble account.

Checking for spam messages

Verification codes are sometimes filtered into spam or junk folders by your phone's messaging app. Here is how to check on each platform:

iOS (iPhone) 🍎

1. Open the Messages app.

2. On the main messages screen, tap Filters in the top right corner.

3. Select Spam to see if your verification code was filtered there.

4. If you find the message, tap it and select Not Spam to move it to your inbox.

Android 🤖

1. Open the Messages app.

2. Tap the three-dot menu (top right corner) and select Spam and blocked.

3. Check if your verification code message appears there.

4. If found, tap the message and select Not spam to restore it.

Password reset verification code issues

If you are not receiving a code to reset your password, work through the following checks before trying again:

ℹ️ The most common reason for not receiving a reset code: you need to enter both your registered mobile number AND date of birth on the reset screen. Both must match your account exactly.

  • Check your reset inputs: Make sure you entered the correct mobile number AND date of birth on the reset password screen. Both must match what is on your account for the code to be sent.

  • Account status: If your account has been closed or you have had recent issues with it, this may be why you are not receiving the code. Contact the Dabble team for assistance.

  • Registered mobile number: Make sure you are using the mobile number currently registered on your Dabble account. If you have since changed your number, you will need to go through the phone number update process before you can reset your password.

  • Mobile reception: Check that you currently have mobile reception and are able to receive other SMS messages normally.

  • Pre-paid plans: If you are on a pre-paid plan, check that you have sufficient credit to receive an SMS.

  • Android spam filter: If you are on an Android device, check your SMS spam or blocked messages folder for a message from 'TWVerify'.

  • Device troubleshooting: Try fully restarting your device. You can also try switching between mobile data and Wi-Fi, or using a different network type.

Once you have worked through the above, follow these steps to reset your password:

  1. Go to the Login page and select "Reset Your Password" in the middle of the page.

  2. Enter your personal phone number linked to your Dabble account.

  3. Enter your Date of Birth linked to your Dabble account.

  4. A verification code will be sent via text message. Enter this code to proceed.

  5. Create and confirm your new password, then tap "Save New Password."

  6. Log back in using your updated credentials.

ℹ️ If your phone number is outdated or incorrect, you will not be able to complete this process. You will need to provide a PDF document displaying your name and new phone number to update your account details.

Account creation verification code issues

If you are not receiving a code during account creation, check the following:

  • Your phone number is not already associated with an existing Dabble account. If it is, reset the password for that account instead.

  • The email address, name, and date of birth you provided match your official ID.

  • Your residential address is correct and matches your ID.
