What happens to my bet when a player gets injured?

Explains how player injuries affect your bets, which markets are covered, how timing works across different sports, and what happens to multis and SGMs when an injury void occurs.

When a player gets injured during a game, it's natural to wonder what happens to your bet. The short answer is: it depends on the market type, the sport, and when the injury happened. This article walks you through how it all works.

Which bets are covered?

Not every bet is eligible for a void or refund when a player is injured. Coverage depends on the sport, the qualifying league, the market type, and when in the game the injury occurred. Here's the full breakdown:

Milestone Markets are one-sided markets where only the overs outcome is available, for example: To Have 25+ Disposals, Anytime Tryscorer, To Have 6+ Rebounds or To Have 25+ Receiving Yards. These are the markets covered under Injury Protection.

Pick'em markets are generally not covered by Injury Protection. The only exception is Soccer, where limited coverage applies on the More side only. LESS selections within Pick'em are never eligible on any sport.

📢 Important: For the timing window to apply, the player must not return to the game, court, or field at any point after leaving during the eligible period. If a player leaves during the eligible window but returns, even briefly, the bet stands.

Soccer note: Players who start on the bench and enter the game for any amount of time are not covered by this policy, regardless of when they leave.

🎾 Tennis: Tennis bets are not governed by the Injury Protection Policy. Retirements and walkovers follow separate rules. If a player retires before the first point is played, all markets are void with stakes refunded.

If a player retires during the match, Head-to-Head and match-long markets are void with stakes refunded, unless the result of that market has already been unconditionally determined. For the full details, see our Tennis rules article.

What happens to my multi when one leg is voided?

This works differently depending on the type of multi:

  • Regular Multi: The voided leg is removed and your remaining legs continue. The odds are recalculated without that selection, so the multi stays alive at shorter odds.

  • Same Game Multi (SGM): If any leg is voided, the entire SGM voids and your stake is refunded. SGMs can't be partially settled because the legs are all linked to the same game.

  • Super Multi (a Multi containing SGM legs): Each SGM in a Super Multi counts as one leg of the overall multi. If a player injury voids a selection within one of those SGM legs, that entire SGM leg is voided. The rest of your Super Multi continues on with the remaining legs and the overall odds are recalculated without the voided SGM leg.

Frequently asked questions

My Milestone Market bet was refunded but my Pick'em wasn't. Why?

Pick'em is a different product structure to Milestone Markets, and it's generally not covered by the Injury Protection Policy. The only exception is Soccer, where limited Pick'em coverage applies on the More side only. We know this can feel inconsistent, but the market rules do differ between the two.

What if I chose the UNDER or LESS option?

LESS and UNDER selections are always settled based on the final result and are not eligible for an injury void, regardless of the sport or market.

What if the player was rested or subbed for tactical reasons?

The policy only applies to genuine injuries. If a player is rested, rotated, or managed for load by the coaching staff, that's treated as a normal coaching decision and your bet will be settled as usual.

What if the player was already a winning bet before leaving the game?

If your bet was already won before the player left the game, it'll be paid out as normal, not voided.

How do you confirm the injury was official?

We rely on official league and broadcaster confirmation, not social media reports or interim updates. This means settlement can sometimes take a little longer than usual while we wait for the official status to come through. We appreciate that's frustrating when you're waiting on a result.

Do I need to do anything to claim my refund?

No action is needed on your end. If your bet qualifies under the Injury Protection Policy, we'll process the void automatically, usually following game completion.

If you believe we've missed a player injury after settlement, contact our support team and we'll review it for you

My bet still hasn't settled after an injury. What's happening?

If your bet is still pending longer than expected, it's likely we're waiting on official confirmation of the player's status. Most cases are resolved shortly after game settlement or injury confirmation.

If a player is ruled out confirmed mid-game, we may need to wait until game completion to action from our end.

If a player is questionable to return, we also need to wait until game completion to ensure they don't return to the game.

If it's been significantly longer than expected, get in touch with our support team and we'll look into it for you.

What happens to my Super Multi if an SGM leg is voided due to a player injury?

If a player injury voids a selection within one of your SGM legs, that entire SGM leg is treated as void and removed from your Super Multi.

The rest of your Super Multi continues with the remaining legs and the overall odds are recalculated without the voided SGM leg.

I think my refund was incorrectly denied. What can I do?

If you believe your bet should have been voided under the Injury Protection Policy, you can review the full policy details or reach out to our support team who can take a closer look at your specific bet.

My bet is on a Pick'em Futures market. Does Injury Protection apply?

No. Pick'em Futures markets are not covered by the Injury Protection Policy under any circumstances, across all sports.

These markets are offered on an 'All-In' basis (General Sports Rules 6.3), meaning your bet remains active for the full duration of the tournament regardless of whether your selected player starts on the bench, becomes injured, comes on as a substitute, or has limited playing time in individual matches.

A Pick'em Futures bet is only void if the tournament or competition is officially cancelled with no winner declared.
