Scratchings & Deductions
Updated over 2 months ago

What are deductions?

Deductions are applied to the payout of a bet when one or more runners in a race have been scratched, or do not run, which happen after your bet has been struck.

This information can be found on the race page as seen below:

In this race, 4. Rahni Factor was scratched. The deductions amount is 6c per dollar applied to the Win price of your bet taken, and 4c per dollar applied to the Place price of your bet taken.

As an example, you have had $20 to Win at $5.00 on the winner. To calculate the payout for the above, we use the following method:

1. $20 stake x $5 odds = $100 potential payout

2. $100 potential payout x $0.0 deduction per dollar (6%) = $100 x 0.06 = $6 deducted amount

3. $100 potential payout - $6 deducted amount = $94 actual payout.

This same method will be used for any/all scratchings that happen, in cases where there are multiple scratchings after your bet is struck.
