Dabble Div FAQ's
Updated over a month ago

Why aren’t exotics available for every race?

This is currently available for Australian racing only. For Dabble Div, there needs to be a minimum of 6 runners in the race for this to be enabled. In races with 5 or less runners, we will be taking Win or Place bets only.

What happens if a Dabble Div isn’t declared?

In the event a Dabble Div dividend is not declared, Victorian TAB exotic dividends will be substituted and declared as final dividends for the effected race.

What happens if the runners in a Dabble Div race I have placed a bet in reduce from 6 to 5 runners?

All bets will still stand as placed, and will be paid as per normal.

Are there any other Rules for Dabble Div?

For more information, please check out our full Exotic rules in section 15 of our racing rules here.

How do Dabble Div prices compare to the Tote?

We recently analysed a 6 month period covering over 100,000 bets using our Dabble Div product vs the totes. We have found on average that 72% of bets were paid at higher on Dabble Div, than the Victorian Tote.

The total payout was 14% higher on Dabble Div, compared to what it would were paid using the Victorian Tote Dividend (the dividend that most bookmakers match).

In fact, If the total payout for winning bets were made at Best Tote instead of Dabble Div, Dabble Div would have still have returned more!

Dabble Div isn't better nearly 30% of the time, and that's probably pretty annoying for winning punters, but its designed to be fairer and in the long run it will likely put more money back in your pocket.

Dabble Div has been approved by Dabble's regulator the Northern Territory Racing and Wagering Commission (NTRWC), who are able to independently calculate dividends using the Dabble Div algorithm in cases of a dispute.

How often do you update the Dabble Div formula?

The Dabble Div algorithm was last updated in May 2022.
